If you wonder why these people are gathered in support of Disarm Now Plowshares then the following article will bring you up to date:
Elderly activists on trial in Tacoma
-- The Puget Sound Trail News -- By Chelsea Tsuchida on December 3, 2010 6:00 AM Some legal thoughts on the issue by Former US Attorney General Testifies for Plowshares Activists Ramsey Clark supports WA anti-nuke movement Ground Zero Center (Nov 28, 2010)
If you want to learn more then I would advice you to read the DISSENTING OPINION OF JUDGE WEERAMANTRY, (English: about 335K) to the ADVISORY OPINION 1996 July 8; General List No.95 on the Legality of the Threat or Use of Nuclear Weapons by International Court of Justice. Even for those not educated in Law it is a very understandable document on International Law and Nuclear Weapons.
Of course it is courageous of these 5 Disarm Now Plowshares elderly activists to go over the fence, maybe facing time in prison for that, but what we need is that next time there are at least 100 or more youngsters and the action after that even more and so on, to go over the fence with them in their support !
What we need and I agree with Steven Leeper calling for that, is a massive grassroots movement to uphold International Law, to Disarm all Nuclear Weapons, to Stop the Wars, to Work for Peace, to Fight Global Warming, to give themselves a Green and Peaceful Future !
