| From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster is a series of equipment failures, nuclear meltdowns, and releases of radioactive materials at the Fukushima I Nuclear Power Plant, following the 9.0 magnitude To-hoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011.[5][6] The plant comprises six separate boiling water reactors designed and built by GE, and maintained by the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). Fukushima disaster is the largest of the 2011 Japanese nuclear accidents arising from the To-hoku earthquake and tsunami and is the largest nuclear accident since the Chernobyl disaster, but more complex as multiple reactors and spent fuel pools are involved.[7] Arnold Gundersen, a former nuclear power industry executive who served as an expert witness in the investigation of the Three Mile Island accident, said that "Fukushima is the biggest industrial catastrophe in the history of mankind."[8] Knowing and sharing the critique that one can not cite a wikipedia article as source of your information, I want to make an exception for this article about Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in which all their citations are placed in 500 plus footnotes.Absolute incredible !
